4th of July events in Florida

Living in a peninsula, there is plenty of activities to do by the water, at the bay or in the beach and the Fourth of July is no exception. If parades, picnics and inland firework displays are too unoriginal and mundane for you, there are various 4th of July celebrations taking place by the water.

On Anna Maria Island, the 26th Annual “Sandbar Fireworks Spectacular,” will light up the sky in an array of colors fit for any Fourth of July celebration. There will be specials and valet parking is available. it is suggested that you come early for the best seat in the house either on the deck or on the beach.

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: Sandbar Restaurant–100 Spring Avenue, Anna Maria, FL.

If a romantic island is less your speed, the City of Cape Coral is hosting RE/Max Realty’s Red, White & Boom party, which has earned it’s reputation for being one of the best places to be for the 4th of July, presented by the Chamer of Commerce. Activities include but aren’t limited to: a patriotic dog contrest, a banana split eating contest for kids and an apple pie baking contest.

When: 4:00 p.m.

Where: The Cape Coral Bridge and Cape Coral Parkway

VIP tickets can be purchased for viewing the fireworks from a designed aread but the festival and parking are free. There will be live music, entertainment and vendors will be selling food and beer.

Fort Myers will also host a Freedom Fest that begins with a Block Party featuring five stages of live music and will culminated with a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

When: 6:00 p.m.
